A Time to Crow with a New Stamp

I am in love with the new Wood Words that comes as a bundle.  This set has everything to make an adorable card or 3 D Project.  I will show you later how to make the crate.  It gives the farm feel. Hence, the down-home title.  I have a thing for roosters and that is the theme of my kitchen.  Here are a few pictures of my rooster theme kitchen.  I will spare you the pictures of my curtains. Yes, they are roosters.

I thought it would be fun to showcase one of the wonderful new stamp sets in the 2017-2018 Stampin’ Up! Catalog.  As I said above it comes as a bundle which means you save 10%.  I did a PDF on my newsletter with another idea using this stamp set.  This card is so simple it needs no PDF.

A Time to Honor

Today is a day to honor and reflected on those we have served.  We also remember those that are no longer with us.  Over the weekend I made the drive to the cemetery to decorate my parent’s graves and reflect on my father’s service. He served in World War II and went in on D-Day.  I think the flowers look quite nice.

Afterward, I went around to the other side of  Resthaven Cemetary to visit our swans, Jack and Jill.  I was able to get a good photo.  So I would like you to meet them.  This prompted me to create this card.  I am so glad the swans are in the new annual which you can order among many new products.

This card played right into a challenge card for Freshly Made Sketches.  Here is a look at what is required.

These sketches are always open to our interpretation.  If you are wondering what is in my left-hand corner, it is lily pads.  Notice that I used some of the retiring tools which I will continue to use.  This is a card is what I call a Concept Card.  It is all about the layout which in this case you can easily change the stamp set. However, my thoughts on it are that you can leave it as it is and use it for multiple occasions.  I put no greeting on the card, but there is room at the bottom to add one.  This card will work as a birthday, a thinking of you, get well, thank you and a sympathy card.  Make the card and leave it blank as I did and when you need a card put the greeting on it.  This perfect emergency card. Reflection Time

I don’t know about you, but last year’s annual catalog seem to fly by way too fast.  We enjoy so many wonderful products, but for some reason, some get pushed to the back.  Yesterday, I posted on Facebook this card.  I hardly ever post a card on Facebook and then turn around show it on my blog. However, this card deserves a second look.  this is one of the stamp sets that got pushed to the back and is retiring. No tears. So look at Love and Affection with its beautiful paper.
