Critter Invasion

Stampin’ Up! CAS friendship card made with Foxy Friends stamp set and designed by Demo Pamela Sadler. See more cards at stampinkrose.com #stampinpinkrose

Think this card is appropriate because the raccoons are showing everywhere.  I was in Chicago and went to load my car the night before I was leaving and what did I see?   Two raccoons  were scampering away  in the parking lot.  So I thought this would make a perfect card. I do think they are cute even though some people feel they are a nuisance.

Foxy Friends is the perfect stamp set because of all the animals you can make with it. What have you made with Foxy Friends? I would love to see your creation.

I am back after a wonderful trip to Chicago and had a great time.  I met with a great group of stampers.  You don’t know how much fun it is to see everyone and exchange ideas.  We had two wonderful host for the event …. Lisa Pretto and Janet Wakeland.  We did some web conferencing with some top Stampin’ ! Demonstrators.  The picture is of our great host.

Today’s card is using Thoughtful Branches.   It is Hedgie the Hedge Hog.  There is a story behind this card.  My son’s ex girlfriend had a hedge hog as a pet.  I don’t know if you know, but they make good pets.  I used it in the classroom as a teaching tool.  So I thought the branches would work for his prickly part.  Just my chance when I was in Chicago I took a picture of a hedge hog.  So here is that picture and my card. I would love to hear what you think.

Timeless and Elegant

Stampin’ Up! CAS Anniversary made with Floral Phrases Thinlits and designed by Demo Pamela Sadler. See more cards at stampinpinkrose.com #stampinpinkroseWe all have special cards we need from time to time which sometimes require them to be elegant.  So before  I head to Chicago I have a challenge (actually two challenges).  The first challenge is a color requirement of Melon Mambo, Sahara Sand, and Black.  There is one stamp set with thinlit that I haven’t used; Floral Phrases.  So I dug it out and thought, many are using it for Wedding cards.  At this my point in life, I have far more Anniversaries that Wedding.  Therefore, I came up with this Anniversary card. You will find it quick and simple. Yet, this card is truly timeless and elegant. The other challenge is open design.  See the challenge links at the bottom.

Base: The beautiful and bright cheery Melon Mambo paper.

Focus:  The intricate lace cutout in black of the die. I gave a background of neutral Sahara Sand to help the black stand out.  The flower adds a pop of color which ties with the Melon Mambo paper.  Remember you need to tie your colors together.

Tips
