Fluttering In With a Sunday Night Challenge

Don’t you love when you get a bonus card idea that is super simple that you are wondering why didn’t I think of it.  Well, this is what I came up with for my Sunday Challenge card. The theme was stripes or butterflies and to me beside flowers, what is more Spring than butterflies.  Stampin’ Up! offers butterflies in stamps, framelits, and thinlits.  What a choice!

Okay two words.  I used the Pastel Colors to get the multi color effect.  Just stamp your paper with the colors you want and then cut the Butterfly out with the framelit.  Don’t forget to use the Precision Blade with the brush.  It makes life so much easier with the intricate pieces.

Everything Is In Bloom! Are Your Projects Blooming?

DSC_0071 Wild About Flowers

Today I bring you a card that shows spring is in bloom.  Because  I need a specific challenge card, your first card is not a framelit.  However, at the end of this post there is another card that is Bloomin’ Love.  I did it has a wedding card. I want you to think about changing the Congratulations to Happy Mother’s Day.  You could use Crazy About You stamp for the words.

Now onto the Wild About Flowers which makes me think of a field of flowers blowing in the wind.  I am in love with all the colors and greenery.  Stampin’ Up! always delights me because they have such great flowers and a wide variety.

Tips:

Stamp Set:  Wild About Flowers, Butterfly Basics, Crazy About You

This stamp has a wide a assortment of words that make it just perfect. You pick the occasion to use it.

Color Combination:

Paper:  Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Whisper White

Ink: See Color Combination

I chose to use Old Olive for a change. So often, I use Wild Wasabi. The flowers of course could be any color you want.  The butterfly to me belongs in a yellow shade.

Accessories: Bitty Butterfly Punch

Note:  I cut the hardwood background in strips once stamped.  It was daubed with the sponge dauber in Early Espresso. I wanted gaps in the strips to stimulate a fence.
