How to Shade with Blends

]Shading with your Stampin’ Up! Blends are not as difficult as you think.  You are simply starting with a light color and adding a dark color. This is a matter of marrying the two colors together.  Watch the video and see how easy it is to do. Then go experiment with some stamped images. Just remember to stamp your image with Memento ink and let dry before coloring. The Blends are alcohol markers and will bleed.  So make sure you have scrap paper underneath.

Showcase the Butterflies

I have been truly enjoying the butterflies in Beauty Abound.  You can do so much with them.  You can cut them apart or leave them together as I did here.  If you choose to cut them apart and use only a few, make sure you keep the ones you don’t use.  I think one of the reasons I love butterflies is because it makes me think of Spring.  If you want more Spring ideas make sure you check out yesterdays post.  I did an adorable rabbit. Just like today’s card can be used for a variety of occasions.

Before I you see this photo I want to let you know I am playing around with my lighting and would love to hear what you think of this photo.  I removed the black background and went to a white background.

I Am Waiting For Spring (Blog Hop)

Welcome to the Pals’ February blog hop. We’re so glad you’re here because it’s “Time to Sale-A-Brate”! Our Design Team created projects using Sale-A-Bration items to inspire you. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Little Miss Rabbit is looking for Spring.  Are you looking for Spring?  Maybe we will have to dream of it for now.  I think I will keep this card on my desk to keep my spirits up. January and February have turned out to be terrible winter months.  One storm after the other. So I thought this Springy card would lift our spirits. What do you think?  This card will be perfect for a lot of Occasions such as baby, birthday, thank you and thinking of you.

Normally I color the rabbit in Soft Suede, but I decided the Petal Pink (because there are no Blends for Blushing Bride.   Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper has wonderful vibrant colors.  Remember it is easy to tie the colors together with Stampin’ Up!’s help.  Just check the back of the Designer Series Paper for a list of the colors. No having to guess the colors.  You are free to create.  I did bring in one color not listed… Sea Foam because of the pale green shade.
