Using Texture with Stamping

Welcome to the Pals’ July  Blog Hop! We’re so glad you’re here because we made some great projects that are “Mixing It Up” –  adding texture that will really take your projects up a notch – or two! When you combine texture and stamping, it is a win win for the receiver because they receive a very special card.  It is even more special when it a Get Well card because it brings cheery smiles to their face.

This special card uses the Basket Weave Embossing Folder along with Layering Squares. Using the Pool Party with Bermuda Bay gives a cool effect or smoothing effect.  Then using the Healing Hugs stamp set makes it complete.

Don’t Just Emboss!

We all love our embossing folders, but how many of you just emboss and that is it?  Well don’t stop there, but start first by coloring your embossing folders. You can use a sponge or the brayer to color your embossing folder.  In this card I sponge it with Petal Pink and then ran it through my die cutting machine.  I used Country Floral.  It really brings out the floral pattern on this embossing folder.  You are going to find this so easy to do.

Notice that I used a retired Pink Ribbon as my new 5/8″ Organdy Striped Ribbon has not arrived yet.

Look Who Is Hopping!

I have a card that is perfect for the way I am feeling.  Yes, hopping.  This is what happens when you take the Fourth of July plus a few days off.  It seems to me we work so hard after having time off, but I think we all need it.  I trust you had a great Fourth of July,  I spent time with friends in Chicago.  We took in a ballgame and some shopping on Magnificent Mile.
