Time for a Cheery Card

I think from time to time we need to send a special card.  I have the perfect stamp set for it… Country Home.  Yes, it was in the Holiday catalog, but it was carried over. Sometimes we forget about the ones that are carried over.  I know it takes some coloring, but you don’t need to be perfect. Mother Nature is not perfect.

The card I created can be used for any occasion and has lots of texture.  I used the Corrugated Embossing Folder along with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder.  Then follow it up with some twine. Check out all the layers!  Someone is going to think you spent hours making this card, but actually, it is done fairly quickly.

Something Old with a Twist

Well, March is here!  We still have snow, but no snowstorm this last weekend.  So it made for a busy weekend.  I was able to get out with my friend Maryann and we hit the craft show.  She loves to shop!  However, I did get some shopping done too.  I found my gal who makes and sells Goat’s Milk soap.  So I stocked up on it.  I know it is only March, but I started my Christmas shopping.   Anyway, someone special was in town this weekend because it was Iowa Public Television weekend.  P. Buckley Moss was here and I was invited to a dinner party for her.  There were about 15 of us.  So very intimate. Then Sunday I went over to IPBS and bought her latest print. She signed it of course.

Because of all this going on I got very little work done.  So I decided to bring out one of the older stamps in the Annual Catalog.  It is Waterfront.  I just love this stamp set because it is so versatile.  I did a birthday card, but I have done sympathy and thinking of you cards with this set.  To me, it is a very easy stamp set to work with it. Yes, I know it has many facets to the set, but it really is just about stamping. Hey It Is Friday, Do You Know What That Means?

Well, we made it to Friday and I am working on some changes and some new ideas.  Soon you will be hearing and seeing some of those changes in March.  Yes, it is March and I am hoping Spring is around the corner.  So when I think Spring, I remember the beautiful Lilies my mother would place on the dining room table.  Therefore, I want to present Lasting Lily, but with a twist.  As of March 1st, you can order the framelit that goes with it.  There are actually two more framelits to go with the Sale-bration items….. So Hoppity and Sweet Cupcake.  Today I want to showcase Lastly Lily cut out as a card fold.  This is an older video, but I received a request for a Gate Fold card.  So why reinvent the wheel.

This is a simple card to make as an A2.  You will cut your cardstock to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″.  Then score at 2 1/8″  which is the first mark after 2″.  The panels are 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″.  The piece with the flower is 2 1/2″ x 4 3/4″  and white cardstock is 2 1/4″ x 5″.
