Creating a Background with Ink

Did you know you can create a background with just your ink pad? This is called Swipe or Push and Pull Technique.  See what I mean with this video.

Time for a Cheery Card

Cheery Card to brighten a day!

 

 

I think this time of year is a great time to make and send a cheery card.  Stampin’ Up! has the perfect stamp set for it.  It is Bloom by Bloom, a perfect flower card to make in whatever color you want.  So think of who you are sending this card and choose their favorite colors.  When they open that envelope smiles will appear and you will have made their day.

Besides using any colors, you can use the card for any occasion such as birthday and get well card.  So start creating and stamping. You will be amazed at how quickly this card comes together.  My card is just a little hello for a dear friend so I chose to use the greeting “For You” and I followed it with the perfect sentiment. … “one of the best things in life is you.”  This can be found with the Hostess stamp set in the Annual Catalog Very Vintage. Stop and think this sentiment would be a perfect birthday card.

How to Shade with Blends

]Shading with your Stampin’ Up! Blends are not as difficult as you think.  You are simply starting with a light color and adding a dark color. This is a matter of marrying the two colors together.  Watch the video and see how easy it is to do. Then go experiment with some stamped images. Just remember to stamp your image with Memento ink and let dry before coloring. The Blends are alcohol markers and will bleed.  So make sure you have scrap paper underneath.
