Remember When……

Okay, I am going to date myself with this question. Does anyone remember when Tie Dye is a thing?  It started in the 60’s. A teammate did a wonderful technique with Tie Dye.  So I am bringing it into my cardmaking with the So Many Shells Stamp Set.  It involves a technique which I will give you all the details on tomorrow’s technique video. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the card.  You will find another card using the So Many Shells stamp set in today’s newsletter.  Make sure you subscribe to my newsletter.

By the way, notice all the great words on the stamp set.  The shells are two step stamping.

What Stamp Set Did You Use Least?

I have a stamp used so little.  So I am giving you one more Sale-a-bration item.  You can find more Sale-a-bration items popping up on my Pinterest site.  Remember if I like something I use it. Particularly on Etsy site.  This stamp set is the Beautiful Peacock you could have chosen it as a free item with a $50 0rder.  I feel this card could be used for a multiple of occasions.  I did this for a graduation card for a special girl.

Last week I commented on how invaluable embossing folders are giving a background. So this embossing folder is in the current Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  Also, I love how much ribbon can add to it.  This was so true of the Berry Burst 3/8″ Metallic Edge Ribbon in the Cake Soiree Suite.  I hope it carries over in the new Annual Catalog. We will see! Anyway, I ordered more of that ribbon.

So I combined to of my favorite colors together…..Smoky Slate and Berry Burst. I just think these colors are such a perfect combination.  What do you think? Please comment below because I would love to hear from you.

Happy Good Friday

With this being Good Friday, I thought an appropriate stamp set would be the Hold on to Hope with its Cross of Hope Framelits Dies.  This ends March 31st because it is part of Sale-a-bration.  You will find uses beyond Occasions Catalog on page 27.  Do not let this set pass you bye.  I have been waiting for a wonderful cross dies and finally Stampin’ Up! delivered.  You will be using this beyond Easter.  I want you to think of Encouragement cards, Sympathy cards, Communion, Baptism and other occasions you want a religious theme.

So I am giving you two different cards (actually three) you will see why in a minute.  My friend Tami reminded me how this cross can be presented as a necklace look.  First, version is just simply a card with the ovals and some beautiful paper.

This beautiful paper is part of the second release of Sale-a-bration.  I just love it and can even think of using it for wedding cards.

  • Big Shop
  • Layering Ovals

For the second and third card, it used the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder and the Gold Twine along with the Oval Framelits.  Can you tell the difference in the cards?  It is the way the cross is hanging.  The first one, the chain is underneath the paper and the second one is on top.  The oval I used is the 3 1/4 length one.
