As we prepare to send some of our stamp sets away and as a demonstrator look forward to the preorder that became available May 2 nd, I thought I would choose a favorite mine that is not leaving us.  With that title, can you guess which one it is?  Yes, it is a balloon one.  Lift Me Up.  It has a Thinlits that goes with it and makes easy work.  So if you know someone that needs their spirits lift up, this colorful card should do the trick. I will have another one on Facebook that is perfect for a birthday.  So whatever the occasion that stamp set about covers it.  Here is the link to my Facebook https://www.facebook.com/stampinpinkrose/photos/a.835306279904546.1073741828.620259814742528/1062869670481538/?type=3&theater

Tips and Tricks

Color Combination: Stampin’ Up! has so many pinks to choose from and many will work with each other.  So chose a lighter shade and then add a darker shade.  Then bring everything out with a neutral background like Tip Top Taupe which I am as it is retiring.  I did one other color to bring out the Melon Mambo with the cutout balloon…..Basic Gray.

  • Blushing Bride
  • Melon Mambo
  • Tip Top Taupe
  • Basic Gray

Stamp Set: Stampin’ Up! has really offered many different types and sizes of balloons.

  • Lift Me Up

Lift Me Up Clear-Mount Bundle

Ink:  It is always better to use a darker ink that preferably already in your project.

  • Melon Mambo

Paper:  Stay with the colors in your Color Combination.

  • Blushing Bride
  • Melon Mambo
  • Basic Gray
  • Whisper White

Designer Series Paper: Find a neutral color that won’t distract from the focus….balloons.

  • Tip Top Taupe Striped (retired) Envelope Paper 2015-2016

Accessories:  Up and Away Thinlits*, Big Shot, Trimmer, Layering Circles

*this is not retiring

Spring Is Here with the Birds Singing

I love spring because of the flowers blooming and the birds singing.  So this cheery bird is singing to the receiver.  The message could be Happy Birthday, Thinking of You or Get Well. Also, think about it as a Mother’s Day card. My mother loved her birds. The bird came from Best Birds which is not retiring. Best of all this stamp comes with a coordinating thinlit dies which make it super easy to create the bird.  It is just a matter of coloring the bird. For more bird ideas check out my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/stampinpinkrose/photos/a.835306279904546.1073741828.620259814742528/1061571873944651/?type=3&theater

Challenge: This is a challenge for Freshly Made Sketches. The theme appears to be a shape on the card. So I chose the Layering Circles for the bird to be placed on. Freshly Made Sketches http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/2017/04/freshly-made-sketches-285-sketch-by-amy.html

Tips and Tricks

Color:  I like using brown with the Flirty Flamingo and tieing it together with the Flirty Flamingo paper.

Stamp Set:  The eyes are the bird and everything you need is in this set.

  • Best Bird

Best Birds Photopolymer Bundle

Ink:  Of course, I used my favorite brown ink…Soft Suede.  To me, Chocolate Chip is just a little too dark.

  • Soft Suede
  • Flirty Flamingo

Paper:  Once you chose the colors of your bird, it is just a matter of tieing it together. I didn’t want to overdue it with Flirty Flamingo, so I went with Pool Party because it reminds me Robin’s egg.  I thought the circle needed more of a stand out because Pool Party is so light in color.  So I used Mint Macaron to make it pop.

  • Flirty Flaming
  • Whisper White
  • Pool Party
  • Mint Macaron (retiring)

Embellishment:  Flowers always need something in the center.

  • Pearls

Accessories:

  • Layering Circles
  • Big Shot
  • Birds and Blooms Thinlits
  • Trimmer
  • Blender Pens

Circle Spinner Card

Stampin’ Up! Birthday card made with From Land to Sea and Seaside Shore stamp sets and designed by Demo Pamela Sadler. See more cards at stampinkrose.com #stampinkpinkrose #etsycardstrulyheart

This a fun card to make because it is an interactive card.   So let us make a Circle Spinner Card. You can decorate it the way you want. Which means you can use just about any stamp set and make it for any occasion.

As you see I chose an ocean theme using From Land to Sea for the turtle and the Seaside Shore for the fish. The party hat came from Little Cuties.
