Festival of Trees

Each week we are getting closer to that magical time of year. Christmas!  So as we make our list and check it twice, we need to get our Christmas cards done.  For me sending out cards puts the sparkle in the holidays.  I like doing cards that I think that person would especially like.  So we did the wreath in the last blog, now it is time for the trees.  Stampin' Up! came out with a marvelous stamp and punch this year called the Festival of Trees.

I have been busy creating different cards  with the Festival of Trees.  Here is what I came up with on designs.

Below is the wonderful of Festival of Trees stamp that will help you create these beautiful cards.

I decided to do a window card for the Festival of Trees.  Using a circle framelit, I cut a circle out.  This gives you a window into the sentiment which came from Endless Wishes.  I chose Merry Christmas.  I love this stamp because it gives you choices of words and how to stamp.  For example, I could use strictly the word merry.  This stamp has the snowflakes on it. So I used Smoky Gray for the cardstock as my base and cut the circle out.  Make sure your circle is high enough to place the trees.  I stamped the trees from Festival of Trees (you pick which trees you want to use).  Then I punched them out with the tree punch.  The colors I chose were Basic Gray and Lost Lagoon.  I glued them right below the circle.  Next I stamped them using the different snowflakes off Endless Wishes. For one card I used Lost Lagoon for the color and the other card I stamped and embossed with my white embossing powder.  The sentiment was from Endless Wishes and stamped inside the circle. I hope you enjoy these cards.

Holidays Are Coming

                                               Wreath 2014 001

Whether you want it or not Holidays will be here before you know it.  So not too panic, start now with your decorating projects and your Holiday cards.   Over the next few weeks I will be introducing different cards.  Right now I am on a theme kick.  So my themes are wreaths, stars, and trees.  Stampin' Up! came out with the Wonderous Wreath with framelit, a star stamp with framelit, Bright and Beautiful, with framelit, and Festival of Trees with punch.  The Wonderous Wreath is marvelous because it is not just for Christmas.  I have done a fall, Christmas, and birthday card using the Wonderous Wreath and was easy, but best of all quick. We all want cards that are quick and easy especially with the busy Holidays ahead.

Wreath Fall 002

The first card, "Season's Greetings", is a simple layering with Wild Wasabi ink and Real Red for the berries.  The pink card is stamped with Pear Pizzaz.  I used Bohoo Blossom punch for the flowers and a small pearl in the center.  I added a Pink Organaz ribbon. This card will be perfect as a Birthday, Mother's Day, or a Get Well card. The third card is done in Lost Lagoon ink and coordinating ribbon. In the center is the word Joy which comes from the Wondrous Wreath framelit.  The background is woodgrain stamped in Smoky Slate ink.  The matte (base) is a darker gray paper from Stampin' Up!.  The Fall card starts with Hello Honey as the base with Basic gray paper on top embossed in Honeycomb embossing folder. The basic wreath is stamped in Hello Honey and leaves are in Cajun Craze ink.  The berries are stamped in Old Olive ink.  I hand cut the banner and used For All Things stamp set for the greeting on the front.  With the exception of the first card, all wreaths were cut out from the Wondrous Wreath framelit.
