Old Fashion Christmas

When I saw the barn I knew I had to have it because it reminded me of an old fashion Christmas.  Living in the Midwest the barn is very special.  I remember as a child the countless times we returned to the farm for a very special Christmas.

The card I created is not hard but does take time.  First of all, stamp the barn and color it. It does not need to be perfect as most barns have a worn look.  Then you have the matter of using Puffy Paint.  You drizzle it on cardstock and then use Stampin’ Up! Heat Tool.  That is the same tool you use for heat embossing.  I cut my cardstock to the size I wanted for the Puffy Paint. The idea is it will resemble snow which gives the perfect for this card. Can’t you imagine a sleigh ride over the snow?

Okay, I just noticed a couple of details need to be attended to, but I am not going to hold up this post.  Can you spot them?  One is the door is not colored and the other is I colored the windows with So Saffron to give the effect of light.  When I did this card I did four barns. So I must have grabbed the one I missed these spots.

Whether You Are

So whether are not you are a singer or a music listener hopefully this card will strike a note. I think the Caroling Mice stamp set is absolutely adorable. It is a break from the traditional cards we see for the Holidays.  You will find it in the Mini Catalog on page 86.

It will take some coloring to make it pop. However, I think it is worth it. For me, it can have a calming effect just to color quietly.

The Caroling Mice and the lantern were fussy cut-outs.  I wanted an interesting background with texture. So I thought the Music Melody Embossing Folder was the perfect tie into the stamp set. I add some gray marks under the mice.

I would appreciate you ordering from me.

1 2 3 Done

I hope you enjoyed the Blog Hop last week. Sorry, I couldn’t join you, but I didn’t want you to miss the beautiful ideas.  So this week I hope is a treat.  You will receive two Holiday ideas, but only if you sign up for my newsletter.  On Friday I email out a short email with completed projects.  I have been sending out Halloween cards.  This may be the last, but don’t hold me to it. Then we move to Christmas and a sprinkling of other ideas.

However, today you are receiving a Christmas card with the cute Scottie. This card is so simple everyone can make it. The Stampin’ Up! stamp set is called Christmas Scottie. Last week I posted a Birthday card with Scottie.  Here is the link. https://www.stampinpinkrose.com/2022/10/time-for-wagging-good-time.html

What do you think of this pretty Designer Series Paper? It is called Sweetest Christmas and you will find it in the Mini Catalog on page 9 with the Sweet Candy Canes Suite.

Remember this stamp set will be a favorite long after Christmas. To me it is a must-have.
