A Little Coloring

Did you know a little coloring goes a long way? When you have beautiful printed Designer Series Paper it is so simple. I used Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper and added a little color with my blends. Then it is a manner of how you want to step it up. I used the Best Butterflies Dies and a few rhinestones. What do you think?

This card can easily be a birthday or a get-well card.

All About Stepping Up

Today is officially the start of the summer schedule change. This means you receive a Thursday post, not a Wednesday post. The exception is Blog Hop week which is always a Wednesday.

Today’s post is all the ways to step up your card.

Ribbon
A punch
A Die
Specially paper-like Vellum or Foil
Dimensionals
Gems like Rhinestones

This card today has 4 ways to set up. Let us look at them. I didn’t just tie a bow. I used the ribbon to act as a transition from Designer Series Paper to the Basic White. Next, I used a die to give the butterfly a focal point. In this case, it was Painted Labels Dies. Then I cut out the butterfly in Calypso Coral. I cut out a smaller butterfly in Vellum and placed it on top of the butterfly. Finally, the complete butterfly adhered to the card with dimensional. If you want to go further you could add gems (rhinestones) on the butterfly.
