Changing Directions

Along with everyone else I have been showcasing Christmas cards. I thought today I would switch directions. This stamp set is in the Annual Catalog. It is Painted Harvest and been around awhile. I created a Sympathy card as I am running low on them. However, you can take this design and use it for a wide variety of occasions. These types of cards are always wonderful.

It has a texture with the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder. I think adding texture adds interest. I gave it more depth by adding color to the embossing folder. Just use the Stampin’ Up! Brayer.

Before we get into the details, I want to give you an updated schedule. Like so many of us preparing for Thanksgiving, we have many things to do. So I will not be posting after today until Monday. I do have the Twelve Weeks of Christmas scheduled for Wednesday. So if you have not subscribed to my newsletter do it now. The weekly newsletter goes out later today.

Not a True Shaker

Last week I showed you several Shaker cards with different scenes. If you subscribed to my newsletter, you would have received the Christmas ornament. Remember you can always change the scene. The Shaker card today is not a Shaker because it lacks the dome. I don’t have an oval dome and Stampin’ Up! don’t sell any. I have asked for oval domes.

So I simply used a window sheet to fit the shape. I did add the sequins and snowflakes to the inside of the scene. It does give a glistening effect. Instead of the small sprig without a die, I choose to use the Peaceful Boughs die for the sprig. And of course, I had to use my favorite background stamp set….Buffalo Check. If you don’t have it, it is my top favorite stamps sets.

If you are wondering about the Label Punch, you cut the background paper (in this case Glimmer Gold) in half and then glue to your punched out paper.
