What Are the Signs of Fall?

As August rolls to a close and September appears on the horizon, fall is approaching. So my question for you “what are the signs of Fall?”  Is it leaves changing color?  Pumpkins ready for the carving.  Apples ready for apple pie?  Squirrels are busy scurrying.  Men preparing for hunting season. Okay, you get the idea and the last thought ties into today’s card.  The new Holiday Catalog which I am in love with has pheasants as a stamp set.  It is called Pleasant Pheasants.  It is simply beautiful and you color them with your Blends. When I saw it I knew it would be a great masculine card.  I think it would be a great sympathy card to give to a man that has lost his wife. I made mine a birthday card.

When I choose the colors for the pheasants, I wanted the female a lighter color. So I still used the Soft Suede for the body and feathers, but I used the Color Lifter to lighten her body. The head was colored with Crumb Cake. The initial stamping was done in Early Espresso. The greeting came from Southern Serenade.

Do You Know What Is Coming?

In a little over a week, the Holiday Catalog will be available for you to see and order from.   Have you received your catalog yet?  Keep watching your mailbox because I just sent more catalogs out.  You can request your Holiday Catalog right here and it is FREE!   Today’s card is from the new Holiday Catalog.  There is a beautiful pitcher in the catalog that reminds me of the one mother had.  She always served lemonade in this pitcher. I can see her coming out with the tray that matched it with snickerdoodle cookies.  Such a treat on a hot summer’s day.

So had to have this stamp set called Country Home.  I hope it brings memories back like it did for me.  There is a milk container for those that have memories from a farm.  Anyway, you will find that this set makes a beautiful Fall card.  One of the arrangements has cattails in it.  To give it a country feel, I used the Wood Texture paper as the background.  There is a Tin Tile Textured Impressions Embossing Folder that will give you the galvanized look. Mine is on order and I will need to make another one using it. By the way, I stamped the arrangement in Old Olive and then colored the flowers.  You have room below the pitcher to stamp whatever occasion you need this card for,  I left mine blank because I have not decided what I want to use it for.
