Time to Shake It Up!

I have been busy getting ready for another craft show in Des Moines. I have just three left and will be glad to be done. However, enjoyed meeting all of our paper crafters.  At this point in the craft shows, I am having to replace the merchandise.   So I get little free time to create new,  but I have been working on the snowglobes from the Still Scenes stamp set. So I thought this was a wonderful time for this video.

Here is one of my completed projects.  With more to complete. Remember this is not just for Christmas.  Take this idea and look at other stamp sets.

Notice this one is without the dome.  I can just picture this with the dome and snow.  Next week I get onto making a Shaker card. So keep watching and in the meantime why don’t you give it a try?  You will cards that everyone will be talking about and you did it how.  Order yours today #150503  Order it

Time to Add a Different Background

I hope you will enjoy using the Mercury Glass Designer Series Paper. It really makes your project stand out. You will have people asking you about this paper. You will find it on page 33 of the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog. #150441

Here are some tips to use the Mercury Glass Designer Series Paper.

  1. There is a thin film on the sheets to protect it from scratching.
  2. So look for the shiny side of the paper, turn over and remove the film from the other side.
  3. All you need to do is gently grab it with your nail or a pair of tweezer to get it started. Then just pull it off.
  4. Once you have removed the film it’s easier to punch or die-cut .
  5. If you plan to back the cut pieces with cardstock apply glue to the sold places on the printed acetate so it can be hidden and not show through the open areas.
  6. If the pieces are small use glue dots.
  7. For larger areas, use the Multipurpose Glue.

Now make sure you subscribe to my newsletter for a project to complete with this paper.

Do You Have a Favorite?

We all have favorites.  Regardless of what we are talking about, there are favorites in our lives.  We have favorite restaurants, products, and stores for example.  Why is very personal.  However, one of the reasons we return to that favorite is it means our needs.  Where we get that product or service depends on the response we receive.  If it is positive we will return, if not we will try another place.

I recently ordered some faces I needed for a project.  The size was in question so the person sent her husband to the store to get a bowl to checkout size.  I gave her an outstanding review because she went the extra mile.   I will return to her when I need more faces.  That kind of service means a lot to me.  I do the same here and at my Etsy shop.  I found a special card for a customer that was not on Etsy.  She was thrilled. I received a great review, but that was not the reason I did it. I did it because I value each customer as a person.

Oh, you are wondering about that project.  Here it is and no it is not a Stampin’ Up! material, but I think it is adorable.

However, I do have a favorite because it just brings a smile to my face. It is Stampin’ Up! Elfie Stamp Set.  Those elves are simply adorable and will bring a smile to your face.

Notice today’s card is layered.  When you layer the card with a background of some type.  You can interest, but it can’t just be a piece of another color cardstock.  You need a pattern or texture of some kind.  Using the Buffalo Check is an example of a background.  Adding a piece of cardstock embossed will add texture. You don’t want any to be too distracting for your image.  For this card, I added the Swirl and Curl Embossing Folder. Notice the cardstock I chose is the same color in the image.
