Bee Time with Card Fold

One of my favorite stamp sets and Designer Series Paper is the Honey Bee. The paper is absolutely adorable. It has the bees on the paper, but it also has black and white. This means you will use it for a wide variety of occasions.

However, the focus today is on the card fold which in a way is an easel card. When I do card folds it so nice when you can put your spin on it. This means using your favorite stamp set and Designer Series Paper.

You should know that with it being Card Fold Friday that is video time. I have the measurements below.

HONEY BEE CLING STAMP SET

Stamp Set I chose was Honey Bee (#15157) out of the Mini Catalog. Plus I used Honey Bee Dies (#15156). You can order this as a bundle #15379.

DETAILED BEE DIES

Card Fold Measurements:

Black (base) 4 1/4″ x 11 1/2″ fold at 5 1/2″
Black Folded 4 1/4″ x 4 1/2″
Designer Series Paper 4″ x 5 1/4″ (I used the Honey Comb)
Designer Series Paper 2″ x 4″ (Mine was striped)
Whisper White 5″ x 5″ (I used the bees and hive)
Whisper White 1″ x 1″ (this will depend on your greeting)
Whisper White 4″ x 5 1/4″ (for inside)

Ink: This will depend on your design. I used Mango Melody and Memento Black.

I hope you have discovered all the wonderful stamp sets in the Mini Catalog? I don’t mean cruising through the catalog, but rather taking the time to study each stamp set. Stampin’ Up! provides many ideas that we can use. I think each time I do explore I discover more ways to create. Don’t stick to one stamp set or dies. Right now I am staying with the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series, but did you notice that Stampin’ Up! used Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper with the cute Toucan.

BIRTHDAY BONANZA DESIGNER SERIES PAPER

I simply love that colorful Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper and the cute animals. Perfect for children’s cards, but don’t limit yourself to it. The other side has wonderful patterns for that next birthday card. Notice for this card I decided to do a Thank You. So that paper works for it too.

Here is my Toucan idea with Pretty Peacock cardstock and Scalloped Linen Ribbon. Notice I used some older yellow ribbon. The Daffodil Delight 1/4″ was on back order when I did my order. It is available now.

Create Delicate Flowers

Why don’t you step up your flowers? You don’t need to cut out the flowers always with cardstock. If you change the material it can give your card a totally different look. I chose to use Vellum for the flowers. It gives a delicate appearance.

Yes, Vellum is transparent, but you can easily change it with the Blends. I used Calypso Coral and it gave a softest to the card. So simply cut out the flowers and then color them.

Pull a color in from what you are working with that is in the cardstock. You don’t want anything that competes with the flowers. In this case, the green is the neutral you want which is the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper. I have to tell you that the Designer Series Paper is even more stunning in person.
