Time for Red

I am thinking this is Red month or at least Red week. You remember Friday is Valentine’s Day. So I thought today would be perfect for a red card. I always think of Poppies as being Red. I did add one extra color with Calypso Coral to give a little variance.

What makes the flowers pop is the absolutely beautiful Peaceful Poppy Designer Series Paper. You will find that in the Mini Catalog. You will find the entire Suite on page 25. However, I didn’t let it rest on that alone. I stamped Poppies in Black on Poppy Parade cardstock. The Poppy Parade color has a little more orange to it which Calypso Coral works with.

This card does take both Poppy Bundles….Painted Poppies and Peaceful Moments. You will need one for the white circle and the other for the Poppies.

I did this one as a birthday card. My birthday stash is now. However, you could make this card any occasion you need. Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Moments stamp set has the most words for a wide variety of occasions.

Turn Up Your Stamping

Hello blog readers and welcome to my blog & thanks for much for visiting.

Today I am participating in a fabulous blog hop with a great group of talented paper crafters. I chose to use the fabulous Happy Birthday to You stamp set in the Sale-a-brochure. They just came out on February 4th with the dies to go with it.

Now you can turn up your stamping easily with the Happy Birthday to You stamp set and new Birthday dies. Using your Blender Pens and ink refills, coloring becomes simple but stunning.

Now we need to frame our work of art. So I decided the frame of the canvas when I started would be the Stitched Nested Label Dies. I used the second from the largest.

I colored the cake with Coastal Cabana and colored the flowers separately. Then they were cut out using the new Birthday Dies. There is a secret to the rich color of the flowers. I stamped them on Daffodil Delight cardstock and colored them with Mango Melody. The leaves were simply cut out with the Birthday Dies.

Of course, I can’t neglect the background of the card. I wanted the Coastal Cabana cardstock to stand out. So used the new Coastal Weave Embossing Folder. You can find it in the Tropical Oasis Suite. When you are choosing a background do you prefer embossing or a background stamp?

After the rough night last night, I was not sure about doing a blog today. As I mention yesterday, I have a bad respiratory infection that is exasperated by my asthma. Normally my asthma gives me no problems. Moving sets me up for coughing. Along with talking. Therefore, I am not going to do post or card fold video on Friday. Trust me it is very aggravating as I got so much accomplished over the weekend. Luckily I have a card all ready to post. I will have a very special card on Monday as I am participating in a new Blog Hop. In fact, there are two Blog Hops next week. This card uses two of the previously released Sale-a-bration items. The stamp set is Thoughtful Blooms and Small Blooms Punch. I used the new Label Me Bold stamp set. It is in the Mini catalog on page 36. It has so many greetings that will work for many occasions.

So whether you are new to stamping or an expert who loves a quick card. This card is merely stamping and punching. The colors I chose are so soft…Granny Apple Green and Balmy Blue with the Mango Melody as flowers. So you are stamping with two images in the Granny Apple Green and the Balmy Blue. The third part is punching.
