As I prepare for Orlando, I am reflecting on what did we miss on the signs of Christmas.   The Poisenetia,  the tree, the Christmas lights, coming home for Christmas, and the candy cane   So there are a few things left. Let us start with the deer.  The Dashing Deer stamp set with the Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies will add to the holiday scene.  Using the dies makes it so easy to create a beautiful card.  Add the Tin Tile Embossing Folder and you bring the card alive with the texture.  If you are short on inspiration take this idea to heart and create it.

I heard from so many people at the craft shows that creating is their weakness.  That is what I am here for.  To guide to creating your own or copy mine.  So don’t let lack of creativity to stop you from enjoying stamping.   You can also pull ideas from the Stampin’ Up! catalogs or google search that stamp set.

A Special Reveal for You

I have a special card I have been working on and now you get a sneak peek at one of my swap cards.  In case you haven’t been paying attention a lot of us are getting swap cards ready for  Orlando.  This is one of my special cards I will be swapping.  I am one not to make a ton of cards. Some of the girls are making 300 or 400 cards to swap.  Usually, I will have 12 to 20 of the same card, but a variety of other cards.  I don’t do well doing multiple cards at the same time.  If I like that card or it sells at the craft shows, I will make more.  Speaking of craft shows, the big one is Saturday in Ankeny Middle Schools. It is called the North Pole. There are three middle schools full of crafters.

 

Back to today’s card. We have the Buffalo Check stamp set which gives a great background.  I used it for my grandson’s scrapbook page.  I have been using it on other cards that I will show you later.  So when I saw Hayden’s scrapbook page it made me think of family which to me is home.  So what do many of us do at Christmas? We come home.  There is a perfect edgelit for recreating a Christmas memory… Hometown Greeting Edgelit.  So come make a homey Christmas card that will warm your heart.

Quick Card for Those Weddings

This is such a quick simple wedding card with a twist on the look.  I thought about doing a video on how to do this card, but it is so simple.  You make your standard A2 fold at 4 1/4″, but the front of the card cut down 2 3/4″ and remove the piece.  This will leave you a flap.  Remember I did a wedding card, but you can easily turn it into a birthday card or even a Christmas card.  It is a matter of choosing your paper and greeting.  The inside was done with the Tutted Embossing Folder which you only emboss to about 3″.
